Sustainability is more than just a goal for us at THE MADISON Hotel Hamburg – it's an integral part of our daily work. That's why we're especially pleased to have received EDGE certification, which recognizes our building for its sustainable construction and resource efficiency.

EDGE stands for "Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies" and is an international standard of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. The certification assesses buildings regarding their efficiency in the areas of energy, water, and materials.

THE MADISON achieved, among other things, the following improvements:

  • 24% energy savings
  • 24% water savings
  • 92% less energy input in materials

These measures help to reduce resource consumption and lower CO₂ emissions in the long term.

The EDGE certification was reviewed and confirmed by Sintali, an international specialist in sustainable buildings and ESG strategies.

With this award, we are taking another important step on our path to a responsible and sustainable hotel operation.
